1. About RYLA Next
RYLA Next is a youth leadership, mentorship, learning, career development, entrepreneurship, community-impact and opportunity platform owned and operated by Iretura Limited.
The initiative was developed to help young people continue their development beyond the RYLA experience through mentorship, leadership practice, learning, service, professional development, networking and access to appropriate opportunities.
Registered young participants in the RYLA Next community may be referred to as “Nexters”.
2. Relationship with Rotary
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is associated with Rotary and is organised through Rotary clubs, districts and other authorised Rotary structures.
RYLA Next is a separately developed post-RYLA initiative owned and operated by Iretura Limited.
Unless expressly stated pursuant to appropriate written authority, RYLA Next is not an official programme, product, platform or service of Rotary International, The Rotary Foundation, or any Rotary district or club.
References to RYLA, Rotary, Rotary clubs, Rotary districts, Rotarians or RYLA participation are made where relevant to explaining the background, community, mentors, activities or purpose of RYLA Next.
Participation by an individual Rotarian, Rotary leader, mentor or supporter does not by itself constitute sponsorship, ownership, endorsement or approval of RYLA Next by Rotary International or another Rotary entity.
Rotary, RYLA and associated names, logos and marks remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any third-party intellectual property to Iretura Limited.
3. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, accessing protected areas of RYLA Next or participating through the platform, you agree to comply with these Terms, the Privacy Policy, applicable Community and Code of Conduct rules and other policies relevant to your role.
Where a participant is a minor and applicable law or RYLA Next safeguarding requirements require parental or guardian authorisation, participation may also be subject to appropriate parent or guardian consent.
4. Eligibility and admission
Access may be restricted to persons invited, nominated, registered, verified or otherwise approved by RYLA Next administrators.
Registration does not guarantee mentorship, employment, internships, scholarships, grants, funding, contracts, leadership positions or any other opportunity.
Individual opportunities may have additional eligibility requirements established by Iretura Limited, mentors, employers, sponsors, partners or third-party providers.
5. Accounts and accurate information
Users must provide information that is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
Users must not:
- impersonate another person;
- create an account using a false identity;
- share passwords, verification codes or restricted access credentials;
- attempt to gain unauthorised administrative or database access;
- misrepresent qualifications, achievements or eligibility;
- manipulate elections, applications or platform processes; or
- use another person's account without permission.
6. Mentorship
Mentorship is developmental and does not guarantee any particular personal, educational, career, business or financial outcome.
Unless an appropriate professional relationship separately exists, general mentorship through RYLA Next should not be treated as legal, medical, financial, investment or other regulated professional advice.
Mentors and mentees must maintain appropriate professional and safeguarding boundaries, particularly where a mentee is below 18.
7. Opportunities
RYLA Next may publish or facilitate access to internships, jobs, scholarships, fellowships, competitions, grants, training, projects and other opportunities.
Unless expressly stated, publication of a third-party opportunity does not amount to a guarantee by Iretura Limited. Users should review relevant conditions before participating.
8. Leadership and elections
Eligible Nexters may be permitted to contest for leadership positions. Leadership positions are responsibilities and not personal entitlements.
RYLA Next may establish election rules, tenure, eligibility criteria, performance expectations and voting procedures.
Iretura Limited may take reasonable corrective action where fraud, technical abuse, manipulation or serious misconduct affects an election or leadership process.
9. Intellectual property
Except where otherwise identified, original RYLA Next software, designs, graphics, written materials, databases, templates, learning resources and other original platform materials are owned by or licensed to Iretura Limited.
Users must not unlawfully copy, sell, scrape, commercially exploit or republish protected materials.
10. User content
Users retain ownership of original content they create. By submitting content to RYLA Next, a user gives Iretura Limited a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process and display that content where reasonably necessary to operate the platform and deliver relevant programmes.
Promotional use of identifiable photographs, videos or testimonials may be subject to separate media consent.
11. Suspension or removal
Iretura Limited may warn, restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated misconduct, fraud, harassment, bullying, exploitation, safeguarding concerns, impersonation, unauthorised access, platform manipulation or material violation of these Terms.
Where appropriate, serious safeguarding or legal concerns may be referred to parents, guardians, responsible organisations or relevant authorities.
12. Changes to RYLA Next
Features, programmes and requirements may change as RYLA Next develops. Material policy changes may require renewed acknowledgement or consent.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
